BYU vs Utah

Not sure why I'm posting about this considering the game was a bit ridiculous!
But to be honest I just like the picture that we took before the game! hahaha
But we were able to watch the game at Landon's Aunt and Uncles house
They have an AMAZING projector/tv situation!

Before the game we made coxinhas with Bo and Kayla.
They were delicious!!!

oh and we finally bought a charger for my camera!
of course I found the old one yesterday, and yes it had been lost for over 2 months. And yes I looked in the spot where it was hiding
So get excited for more posts! :)

Birthday Part 2

When I got home from school our little entry way was FILLED
with balloons!!
Landon's Grandma had brought some over
and my parents (well I should say Mike and Alanine) had sent him some.
which calls for a side note... the first year my brother was at BYU my mom sent him balloons.
She failed to mention the fact that he was a grown man, so they sent him a balloon saying..
Have a DINO-mite birthday. with a big dinosaur.
This time around she thought she made it clear that it was for a grown man.
Although they did better they still added some tree frogs and super heros.
Ha ha so now it's just a little family joke about mom and sending balloons!

We then went out to dinner at Red Robin like mentioned before!
And we were excited that Bo and Kayla were able to come.
Even though Bo had a late class!

and I'm seriously challenged when it comes to photos on blogger. So just disregard the order!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

I'm super behind on blogging all of our summer adventures.
BUT those will have to wait!

Today is Landon's Birthday. So I thought I'd give a shout out to him!
This whole post is probably going to sound cheesy, but whatever!
I'm still in awe that I'm married to this amazing boy.
He knows just how to make me laugh when I'm having the worst day!
I can always count on him to be there for me.
We've had so much fun over this past year since we started dating.
I really can't imagine not knowing him.
Sure we have had our down times. but the good times have definitely
out numbered those!
He truly is amazing and I hope that he knows how much I love him!
I feel bad because I had work at 5 this morning and haven't seen him all day! :(
But we are going out to dinner at Red Robin
he got his birthday coupon for a FREE hamburger!!
as soon as he gets home!!

I threw a party for him on Saturday for family and friends because
I knew that today was going to be busy for both of us with school and work!

The party was a success! I did it a woodland theme in honor
of his birthday present RUFIO (a hedgehog).

Quote

"We have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives.
We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us.
We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove anything, to be what we are.
With all of these decisions we have three responsibilities:
We have a great responsibility to our husbands.
I know it is hard to believe,
but almost before you can turn around the children will be gone and you will be alone with him.
You had better be sure that you are developing the kind of love and
friendship that will be delightful and enduring.
Let the children learn from your attitude that he is important.
Encourage him. Be kind. It is a rough world, and he, like everyone else, is fighting to survive.
Be cheerful. Don't be a whiner.
We have a great responsibility to our children. Find joy in them. Don't overschedule them or yourself.
You may not be able to take them on exotic vacations.
It doesn't matter.
When the day dawns bright and sunny, take an excursion to the canyon or park.
When it's cloudy and wet, read a book together or make something good to eat.
Give them time to explore and learn about the feel of grass and the wiggliness of worms.
Now to our homes. Your home is your own private temple.
Keep it clean. Put something beautiful in every room for your family to look at.
Create a feeling of order and spirituality.
Your home can be beautiful without being elaborate or expensive.
I am touched by a woman's desire for beauty.
Have joy in your home.
Have joy in your husband.
Have joy in your children.
Be grateful for the journey."

DINNERgroup

This past week us and some friends decided
that we were going to make dinner together 3 times a week.
We'd each get a turn to host the dinner and make the main meal,
bring a side dish, or bring the dessert!

It has been so fun to make food for more than just 1 person!
I was in charge on Monday and made yummy Manicotti
(thanks to my mother in law for the FANTASTIC recipe!)
Drew made yummy fajitas, and kayla made a yummy pasta dish!

Each meal this past week was delicious,
and I can't wait to do it again next week, hopefully!
Next week I'll take pictures, promise!

OH and my mom is coming down next week!
I'm so excited to see her--I've missed her terribly!

GRU!!!!!

We've wanted a hedgehog for a while now.
We finally asked our landlord if we could get one,
and he shut us down.
We were both really disappointed,
and really wanted a pet of some sort!
So of course we went and bought a FISH!!!

Our first family picture:

4th of JULY.... a little late!!

I know this is super late but better late than never, right?
Our 4th weekend started off with us going to pick up Christian
from EFY!!
It was so fun to talk to him about the girls that he met and
experiences that he had.
I could tell that his testimony grew a lot over that one week!
It made me realize how I need to dive into the gospel more
and help my testimony to continue to grow!
I'm so grateful for the Gospel and the knowledge that it gives me.

I'm terrible and didn't take any pictures
but we...
1. did a little shopping
2. went to tucanos for lunch
3. the boys played a lot of PS3
4. Swam with cousins
5. went to Pizza Pie Cafe with family!
It was a very busy but fun day!!

On Sunday Landon's family came out to Provo to celebrate the 4th!
Some of the crew slept out in our front yard to save us spots for the parade.
It was my first parade that I've attended... And I have to be honest
I don't know why anyone would sleep outside for a parade!

We then went to Landon's aunt and uncles house
to swim, have a BBQ, and light fireworks!!

It was such a fun weekend!
